BEGINNER ACRYLIC PAINTING COURSE. Minimum 6 students - Maximum 12 students. The acrylic class runs for 3 hrs from 9:30 am-12:30 pm. The day is to be confirmed. Each class is $59 so the total for the four weeks is $236. Embark on a journey into ACRYLICS with our enlightening art class! In this fun and practical beginner's class, you'll be introduced to acrylic painting basics. We will explore everything from composition and colour to the use of this medium, gaining a better understanding of all its exciting techniques and possibilities! Classes rotate through four focused topics: WEEK 1 - PAINTING WITH ACRYLIC FOUNDATIONS 1. You will learn about brushes, applicators, and painting surfaces for using acrylics. 2. Learn how to prepare and prime your surface to create the best foundation for your artwork. 3. We will look at mark-making processes and how to plan your painting. WEEK 2 - COLOUR MIXING AND SHADING 1. Learn about the colour wheel and how to mix different colours and varied shades of colour. 2. Learn how to blend, layer, and add colours to create movement and depth. 3. You will learn how to create perspective within your artwork. 4. Putting all this together to create a study of impressionism. WEEK 3 - TEXTURE WITH MEDIUMS 1. Learn to use a variety of techniques and tools to create patterns and textures. 2. Application of specialised painting mediums to create 3D effects and textures. 3. Putting all of this together to create an impasto painting. WEEK 4 - STILL LIFE PAINTING 1. Learning how to create a composition for your painting. 2. Finally putting all the techniques learnt through the course to create a beautiful still life painting. WHAT IS PROVIDED: *A3 size canvas *Acrylic paints *Acrylic paint mediums *Image to replicate WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING - OR YOU CAN PURCHASE A PACK ON THE DAY FOR $25: *A variety of brushes *Disposable palate pad or large white plastic or china plate *Fabric rag, approximately 20cm piece You are also welcome to bring any other materials you might have at home that you would like to use.
