Essentials is a warm, beginner friendly session for anyone new to painting. You will learn the absolute basics, from using brushes and paints to simple washes and colour mixing. No experience is needed, just a relaxed and supportive space to explore watercolour. Ideal for building confidence and enjoying the process from the very start.

Come and join botanical artist Lauren May SK for a fun and inspiring watercolour workshop exploring the lively hues and delicate textures of pansies. In this step-by-step class, you’ll learn how to capture their vibrant, velvety petals and fresh green foliage, building confidence with colour and the quintessential watercolour technique, wet-in-wet painting, along the way. Guided demonstrations will help you understand how to observe subtle tonal shifts and bring these cheerful blooms to life on paper. In this nature-inspired class, you’ll learn how to build depth and dimension by painting the negative spaces within your artwork. Through guided demonstrations and step-by-step instruction, you’ll gain confidence working from light to dark, understanding how to preserve highlights and create realistic depth without overworking your page.
